Under the theme “Together for Implementation”, COP27 opened in Sharm el-Sheikh, Sharm el-Sheikh. SheikhEgypt. November 2022
The United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP27) will take place until November 18, with the main objective of ensuring the full implementation of the Paris Agreement.
According to the UN Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, CO2 emissions must be reduced by 45% by 2030, compared to 2010 levels, to meet the Paris Agreement’s central goal of limiting temperature rise to 1.5 degrees Celsius by the end of this century. This is crucial to avoid the worst impacts of climate change, such as droughts, heat waves and more frequent and severe rainfall.
Within this framework, we must all make an effort to take action now, and the private sector has a huge role to play.
At SCX we urge companies and organizations that want to go further with their climate commitments to take this challenge as a great opportunity to demonstrate consistency and credibility in their pledges, continue to lead their sectors and encourage others, even those just starting out, to be part of the solution and increase ambition and action in the fight against climate change.
In this COP we will present the results of the Corporate Vulnerability to Climate Change Study 2022, we invite you to be part of the solution.
