The project is located in an area of Brazil that is home to a great diversity and abundance of species, important for maintaining ecological relationships and socioeconomic importance, such as Brazil nut trees and other noble tree species. Its main objective is to avoid and prevent unplanned deforestation in native forests, thus avoiding net emissions of 10,564,630 tCO2e over the 41-year life of the project.

Without the carbon offset funds, the area would have been harvested for timber and then used for cattle ranching, as evidenced by the current state of the areas surrounding the project.
In addition, benefits for the community include the training and hiring of villagers in forest management and monitoring techniques, the availability of a trust fund for new small businesses, and the delivery of 150 energy-efficient stoves. The latter reduce emissions, reduce cooking time, reduce the risk of fire and allow cooking under cover, avoiding rain.
